The WWE’s annual showpiece event has hosted some of the greatest matches of all time, all given that extra sheen by the fact they took place at ‘Mania. To pick the top five matches is much like trying to choose your favourite child, it can’t really be done. But done it has to be.
Some superstars have had so many ‘WrestleMania moments’ they’re matches could fill the entire list, performers like ‘Mr. WrestleMania’ Shawn Michaels, ‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage – who had four matches in one night at WrestleMania IV – 21 and 0 streak holder The Undertaker, the “best there was, the best there is and the best there ever will be” Bret ‘The Hitman’ Hart and the Giant-slamming Hulk Hogan.
A WrestleMania match can be a classic because of so many different factors; the “OMG” moment, the story, the emotion, the crowd or the sheer physicality.
