There are many wrestlers in the history of wrestling, who after retiring, return for a new “run” or for a special match. We have recent examples in WWE in the last Royal Rumble, where we have seen people like Melina, Summer Rae or Booker T return for one more night, or the examples of Lita, who today is the women’s champion along with Becky Lynch
One name that has been flirting for several months with a possible return to the ring is Wade Barrett, who currently plays the role of commentator for SmackDown!. Recently, he has shown interest again in statements to the Daily Star, choosing Austin Theory as a rival:
Austin Theory is the type of young wrestler I would fight coming out of retirement. He’s doing a good job of being the antagonist. He has brilliant athletic abilities and that is offset by the fact that he is such a pitiful and easily hated character.
Who was the leader of The Nexus and one of the most hated villains of the current era, retired from the ring in 2016, but not before being intercontinental champion on 5 occasions and once “King of The Ring”. We will be attentive to future statements and if his return happens.
